Crash shuts down U.S. 701 near Gilbert Road Tuesday morning

A crash shut down U.S. 701 Tuesday morning.

The incident happened about 7:45 a.m. on U.S. 701, south of Gilbert Road.

One person had to be freed from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital. The injuries are unknown.

No word yet on the cause of the crash.
