Horry County firefighters put out Socastee-area house fire blaze
Horry County Fire Rescue workers put out a house fire at a Socastee-area home Saturday morning, according to Brian VanAernem, spokesman with HCFR.
Crews were called out about 10 a.m. Saturday to the single-family home fire on the 5700th block of Rosewood Drive, off S.C. 707, and VanAernem said there were flames showing when firefighters arrived.
VanAernem said the fire was under control shortly after crews arrived, but firefighters remained on the scene some time afterward doing overhaul and keeping the fire contained as it smoldered.
VanAernem said the fire’s cause is still unknown, and that no injuries have been reported in connection with the blaze.
VanAernem did not have an update on the amount of damage the home suffered during the fire.
