Horry County teen killed in crash on S.C. 31
A Loris teen was killed in a crash on S.C. 31 that closed the highway for several hours Thursday morning, authorities said.
Malia Heiman, 16, of Loris was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 8:53 a.m. Thursday, said Tamara Willard, Horry County chief deputy coroner. She died from multiple trauma.
The road was closed for several hours following the crash, but it was reopened by 11 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. near the six mile marker on S.C. 31, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
