Planet Hollywood closes in Myrtle Beach
Planet Hollywood in Myrtle Beach is now closed.
Amy Sadowsky, with Planet Hollywood International, released a statement on behalf of the restaurant.
Here is the statement in its entirety:
"After almost 19 years in the community, Planet Hollywood has opted not to renew the lease for its Myrtle Beach location, which remained operational through Labor Day weekend. The company is pursuing other opportunities for the legendary franchise while focusing on the global development and expansion of Planet Hollywood Resorts International."
Planet Hollywood is an attraction of Broadway at the Beach. As of Tuesday morning it is unclear what Burroughs and Chapin, Inc. will do with the land.
A call to the Myrtle Beach restaurant states that the location is closed. The message also incorrectly identifies the restaurant as located in North Carolina.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but our Myrtle Beach location has closed for business,” the voicemail said.
