Dense fog advisory issued for Horry, Georgetown counties Tuesday morning
A dense fog advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C., for Horry and Georgetown counties Tuesday morning.
The advisory was issued at 5:31 a.m. and is in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday, and officials at the weather service warn motorists that driving may become hazardous as fog impacts visibility.
Authorities also said areas including: Dillon, Florence, Kingstree, Marion, and Williamsburg are also under the advisory.
Officials said the advisory means visibility will be frequently reduced to one quarter of a mile or less at times.
Weather authorities said motorists should drive slowly, use headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead while traveling.
