More than 2K Horry County residents wake up to no power. This reptile was the reason
More than 2,000 people in the Conway area woke up to no power Friday morning.
Horry Electric Cooperative said that the outage impacting 2,400 customers was caused by a snake at the Red HIll substation, according to a Facebook post.
Crews were able to restore the power about 6:50 a.m., the post said.
The outage happened as Horry County is facing an extreme heat warning for Friday as temperatures are expected to be in the upper 90s with a heat index of 111 degrees.
