A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Monday after he told police earlier this month that he fatally shot another man while the two may have been intoxicated.

Horry County Police responded to the 5000 block of Peachtree Road in the Myrtle Beach area on June 11 for a reported shooting at a residence. Upon arrival, police found Michael Seth Hall, 27, lying on the ground in a bedroom with his hands behind his head and blood covering his face. The location is listed as Hall’s address, according to a warrant.

The unknown man Hall allegedly shot was unresponsive in the bedroom, according to a police report. An officer noted that they “could only hear agonal breathing” coming from the man. The man later died.

Police took Hall into custody where he was charged on June 12 with assault of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Hall was later charged with involuntary manslaughter on Monday after police accused him of displaying a reckless disregard for the safety of others.

According to the warrant issued on June 15, Hall had retrieved a firearm, consciously pulled the trigger and struck the victim in the head, causing his death.

A witness at the scene told officers that Hall and the victim were intoxicated and had been messing around. The shooting had been accidental, according to the report.
