Tucked in a shopping center on Kings Highway, a quirky new store could be the only place in Myrtle Beach to sell a vintage cigarette machine, anti-smoking pins, an antique American flag, a communist flag and religious art together in one chic corner.

Room Service owners Emily Vannoy and Nichole Singleton describe their new venture as a one-stop shop to build a collection with hand-picked antiques, original art, oddities and home decor.

“There’s nothing like this here,” Singleton said. Vannoy added, “You’re going to find some really great pieces that you wouldn’t find at Home Goods or things like that … I would describe it kind of as a place to get some funky gifts, fun stuff for your house, if you’re looking for some eclectic pieces.”

After 16 years operating a bridal boutique, Singleton and Vannoy decided to shutter Little White Dress at 4377 N. Kings Highway and open Room Service in its place. The new shop offers an eclectic collection designed to “cater to the masses” with prices ranging from $5 to $4,200.

From Kit-Kat Klocks to theater seats from the 1930s

The eccentric collection ranges from Victorian to new-age, art deco to pop art. Authentic 1930s theater seats, Kit-Kat Klocks and a silent film star’s massive promotional tapestry are scattered around the unusual finds. Everything in the store, from the chandeliers to the rugs, is for sale. Beyond the ever-changing in-store inventory, Room Service hosts pop-up shop events with rotating artists and vintage stores.

“You know how they say every person has a story? Every item in the store has a story, which makes this place especially unique compared to other stores like this,” said Robin Russell, a Coastal Carolina University theater professor who Vannoy and Singleton describe as their motivator, inspiration and backbone.
