The annual Omar Shriners parade is returning to Myrtle Beach this weekend for Memorial Day weekend.

In preparation for Saturday’s parade, the City of Myrtle Beach will be blocking off a number of streets before the event begins.

The popular holiday weekend already draws many visitors to the Grand Strand between the Black Pearl Cultural Heritage and Bike Festival and other vacationers looking to kick off their summer.

The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. and will travel along Ocean Boulevard from Eighth Avenue North to 15th Avenue North. The city will also have a staging area for parade participants that begins at 8:30 a.m. on Seventh Avenue North between Chester and Flagg streets.

Parade attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot, according to a news release from the city.

All roads are expected to be back open by noon.

The roads closed during the parade are:

  • Seventh Avenue North and Chester Street
  • Seventh Avenue North and Flagg Street
  • Eighth Avenue North between Kings Highway and Ocean Boulevard
  • Ocean Boulevard from Eighth Avenue North to 15th Avenue North.
