Pedestrian walking on highway ramp dies after being struck by vehicle, police say

A pedestrian was killed in the early morning hours Monday after being struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was walking in the road on the ramp connecting S.C. 31 and S.C. 707 when they were struck by a vehicle and killed, according to an email from Master Trooper Joseph Rowell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 4:22 a.m. in the Myrtle Beach area, Rowell said. The driver of the 2018 Kia Sedan was not injured.

The name of the pedestrian was not released.
