One killed in head-on crash along SC 90 in Conway. Here’s what we know

One person has died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Conway.

Lanes of traffic along Highway 90 and Thomas Road were blocked for some time while police and emergency crews responded to the fatal crash about 6:48 p.m.

The driver of a 2002 Dodge pickup truck traveling west on S.C. 90 crossed the centerline and hit head on a 2014 Toyota Camry traveling the opposite direction, according to an email from Master Trooper Hannah Davidson with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The pickup truck driver was transported to the hospital where they later died, Davidson said. The other driver also was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The name of the person who died was not released.
