Myrtle Beach house fire victim has been named. Early morning blaze claimed his life
A 72-year-old man has been identified as the person who died in a Myrtle Beach house fire last month.
Eugene Harris died in the Feb. 25 fire at his home off of Highway 15 near 5th Avenue South, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
The fire occurred in the early morning hours, Myrtle Beach Fire Department posted on Facebook at 12:47 a.m. Feb. 25.
Crews responded to the fire, which shut down Highway 15 as firefighters put out the blaze, the post said.
The fire is under investigation, the Facebook post said.
