A $15M South Carolina pier was listed for sale. But is it really on the market?
An iconic Grand Strand property is on the market for millions, but the listed agent says the property isn’t for sale.
A LoopNet listing for the Pier at Garden City shows the property available for a whopping $15 million. Located at 110 S. Waccamaw Drive just south of Myrtle Beach, the 0.84-acre pier known for fishing and live entertainment includes a tackle shop, café and arcade. Built in 1992, the pier is commercially zoned and comes with 40 parking spaces for visitors.
“RARE Opportunity to own one of the nicest piers in the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful Carolina beach,” the LoopNet listing says.
There’s just one problem: Kenny Wells, the agent listed, said the property wasn’t meant to be publicly listed. In fact, Wells said he was unsure how the listing ended up on LoopNet.
As of Friday afternoon, Wells said the plan was to remove the listing but didn’t rule out the possibility of a future sale.
“Right now, we’re just going to pull it off the market for the time being,” said Wells, “Let things cool down and see what we’re going to do.”
