Driver dies weeks after two-vehicle crash in the Conway area. What we know

A person involved in a two-vehicle crash has died from their injuries, more than two weeks after the collision happened on S.C. 90.

The crash happened at 7:51 a.m. Feb. 4 along S.C. 90 at the S.C. 22 exit ramp in the Conway area, according to an email from Master Trooper Joseph Rowell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of a 2012 Lexus Sedan was attempting to turn left onto S.C. 90 from the exit ramp when it was struck by a 2015 Lincoln SUV, Rowell said.

The driver of the Sedan was transported to the hospital and died Feb. 24 from their injuries, Rowell said. The driver of the SUV also was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The name of the driver was not released.

The crash shut down lanes of traffic as Horry County Fire Rescue crews worked to remove at least one of the drivers who was trapped in their vehicle.
