Horry County Schools has announced another eLearning day as icy conditions linger outside.

Due to ongoing concerns about hazardous travel caused by icy roadways, the school system announced Monday that students would have another day at home on Tuesday. All extracurricular events and activities planned for the day are also cancelled.

Schools closed Monday after a winter storm dumped up to 8 inches of snow in some areas of Horry County.

Schools will be closed for the day Tuesday, but remain operational through “eLearning.” Students who cannot participate because of power outages, lack of internet access or other issues can complete their assignments later, the school system said. School staff will give students directions about their online learning day.

The school system will send out another update by 2 p.m. on Tuesday with any alterations to Wednesday’s schedule. They will continue to post updates on social media.
