People are dying for these restaurant and stores to come to Myrtle Beach area
Grand Strand residents are dying for a nearby location of The Cheesecake Factory.
With major developments like Trader Joe’s and Wawa coming to the area, The Sun News wanted to know what restaurant and store chains readers want most in the Myrtle Beach area.
Readers submitted their answers in an open survey, then The Sun News rounded up the answers to vote on in two polls, one for restaurants and one for stores.
The Cheesecake Factory was by far the most popular option. The chain, known for its expansive menu and signature cheesecakes, won the restaurant poll in a landslide with 58% of the vote.
In-N-Out-Burger came in as a distant second with 13% of votes, although the California-based burger restaurant has yet to expand into the Carolinas.
Voters who miss Culver’s burgers, cheese curds and frozen custard made up 6% of the vote, making the fast-casual chain the third most popular option.
The restaurant chains readers most want to see in the Grand Strand are:

Voters were more split on the question of store chains, with top responses split between more upscale grocery stores and regional convenience stores.
With a devoted base of fans who praise its ready-to-eat hot foods, sushi and bakery items, Wegmans scored 29% of the vote and took the top spot.
Amazon-owned Whole Foods came in second. The grocery chain, which advertises organic and healthier foods, got 22% of votes.
Grand Stranders also want a Buc-ee’s store in the Myrtle Beach area. The Texas-based convenience chain, known for Texas-sized stores with clean bathrooms and everything from brisket to fudge, garnered 13% of the vote.
The store chains readers most want to see in the Grand Strand are:

5. Harris Teeter
