North Myrtle Beach residents along 13 Avenue North will see flames coming from a 325-gallon propane tank that was damaged Tuesday.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue is on the scene of the incident that happened about 5 p.m. at Springland Drive, according to a city Facebook post.

Blossman Gas, which is not responsible for the damage caused, is helping to mitigate the gas, the post said. The remaining gas will be burnt off, whic his the safest option, the post said.

It is unclear how the propane tank became damaged.

The flame will be immediately visible to the area near 13 Avenue North and the homes along the lake on Prince William, the post said. Residents are being told to be cautious as it may take several hours to put out the flames.
