A Surfside Beach bar and restaurant will close its doors at the end of March in preparation for a new location in the Myrtle Beach area.

Angell Bros. Bar + Grill, operated by real-life brothers Jon and Dan Angell, are building a new restaurant at 3540 Belle Terre Blvd. that will house the bar and grill.

Jon Angell hopes to have the new location open by May 1. The new restaurant will require the closing of its current spot at 8703 Highway 17 Bypass in Surfside Beach, Angell said.

The brothers decided to build a new restaurant after business wasn’t doing so well in the strip plaza where they are currently located, Angell said.

The new spot will have more food entrees and a larger bar, Angell said. The spot also will have an outdoor patio for extra seating.

That area of Forestbrook doesn’t have a casual restaurant, so Angell Bros. will provide an alternative to battling traffic on U.S. 501 to get to restaurants, Angell said.

Angell Bros. serves burgers and sandwiches, hot dogs, gourmet nachos, shareables and fried platters of fish and shrimp.
