Driving for holidays? Gas prices have fallen. Where to fuel up cheap in Myrtle Beach
Gas prices in the Myrtle Beach area have fallen just in time for holiday travel, according to a GasBuddy analysis released early Monday morning.
The drop could mean drivers will see some of the lowest gas prices in years.
In the past week, average gas prices in Myrtle Beach have fallen 8.1 cents per gallon, averaging $2.41 per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy, a gas price tracking company which surveyed 197 local gas stations. Myrtle Beach gas prices are currently 22 cents lower than they were a month ago, and 30.5 cents lower than they were a year ago.
“For a fourth straight week, the national average price of gasoline has declined, as conditions remain ripe for some of the lowest seasonal gas prices in five years,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy in a statement.
The national average price of diesel has also fallen, decreasing 4.3 cents compared to a week ago and standing at $3.575 per gallon.
According to GasBuddy’s price reports as of Monday morning, the cheapest stations in Myrtle Beach were the Costco at 1021 Oak Forest Lane, BJ’s at 91 Rodeo Drive, Sam’s Club at 1946 10th Ave. North and the Circle K at 2995 10th Avenue Extension North, all reporting prices of $2.28 per gallon.
Outside of Myrtle Beach’s city limits, some cheaper prices were reported in North Myrtle Beach and Little River.
The Circle K at 13 SC 90 East in Little River reported the cheapest local cash gas price of $2.22 per gallon Monday morning, and Dodge’s Store at 2906 South US 17 in North Myrtle Beach reported a cash price of $2.23.
GasBuddy reported that as of Sunday, the most expensive gas price in the Myrtle Beach area was $2.91, and the most expensive gas price in the state was $3.11.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen 5.7 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.79 per gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy. The national average price sits 26.4 cents lower than it was a month ago, and 21.4 cents lower than it was a year ago, according to GasBuddy’s reports from over 150,000 gas stations in the U.S.
