Grocery roundup: Which Myrtle Beach stores are open for the 2025 holidays?

As homes around the Myrtle Beach area prepare for the holidays, shoppers are stocking up on essentials for hosting and celebrating. But for holiday cooks who burn dinner or forget dessert, these Grand Strand grocery stores offer limited holiday hours.

All major grocery chains — including Aldi, Costco, Food Lion, Kroger, Lowes Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Publix, Sam’s Club, Target, Trader Joe’s and Walmart — will be closed on Christmas Day. Some will also close on New Year’s Day.

However, the stores in Carolina Forest, Conway, Little River, Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island and Surfside Beach will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with special hours.

If you need to make a last-minute grocery run, here’s when area stores will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 24; Wednesday, Dec. 31; and Thursday, Jan. 1.

Christmas Eve grocery store hours around Myrtle Beach

Aldi: All four Grand Strand Aldi stores will open at the regular time and close at 4 p.m.

Costco: The Myrtle Beach Costco will open with limited hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Food Lion: All locations will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and all pharmacies will open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a Food Lion representative said.

Kroger: Stores will close at 6 p.m., and pharmacies will close at 5 p.m., per the Kroger website.

Lowes Foods: On Christmas Eve, Lowes Foods stores will close early at 6 p.m., according to a company spokesperson.

Piggly Wiggly: Both Grand Strand Piggly Wiggly locations will open at 7 a.m. and close at 6 p.m., employees said.

Publix: All Publix stores will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, a company representative told The Sun News.

Sam’s Club: The Sam’s Club in Myrtle Beach will open at 8 a.m. for plus members and 9 a.m. for regular members. The store will close at 6 p.m.

Target: Both Grand Strand Target stores will open at 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve, but the Sayebrook Parkway location will close at 8 p.m. while the Seaboard Street location will close at midnight, employees said.

Trader Joe’s: On Christmas Eve, Trader Joe’s will close early at 5 p.m.

Walmart: All Walmart stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a Walmart spokesperson.

Costco: The Myrtle Beach Costco will open with limited hours on New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Food Lion: All locations will operate with regular hours on New Year’s Eve, but pharmacies will only open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., said a Food Lion representative.

Kroger: The four Kroger stores around the Grand Strand will operate with regular hours, opening at 6 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m, employees said.

Lowes Foods: On New Year’s Eve, Lowes Foods stores will operate with normal hours, according to a company spokesperson.

Piggly Wiggly: Both Grand Strand Piggly Wiggly locations will open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m., employees said.
