New indoor golf facility opening near North Myrtle Beach area. When you can tee off
The golf season doesn’t have to end when the weather stops cooperating.
A new indoor golf facility is opening soon, and it’s only a quick drive away from the North Myrtle Beach area.
Net Par Shallotte, an addition to the national chain of Net Par indoor golf facilities, is preparing to open in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The new location will be at 4636 East Coast Lane in Shallotte.
Seasoned golfers and people new to the sport will be able to enjoy food, drinks and a virtual golfing experience as early as January, according to Facebook posts by the business.
Net Par Shallotte will arrive at the north end of the Grand Strand as the latest addition to the area’s growing indoor golf community. It joins several other recent additions in Horry and Georgetown counties, such as Mashie Golf Institute in Myrtle Beach, Performance Indoor Golf in Pawleys Island and Golfluent in Little River.
The indoor golf facility will offer a restaurant and bar, Trackman golf simulator technology, hitting bays, and a putting green. The facility will differ from TopGolf, a popular golfing experience in the Myrtle Beach area, because it will be completely indoors rather than open to the outdoors.
This addition to the Net Par franchise is being operated by Kurt and Amanda Terry, a married couple originally from Indiana who hopes to give back to the community by opening their business.
Amanda Terry told The Sun News that her husband’s family had been visiting the Ocean Isle Beach area for “decades” before the couple decided to put down roots there. But they resolved that, if they were going to move to the area, they were also going to be involved in the community.
They had seen a Net Par facility before in Indiana, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring some family fun for all ages to Shallotte, Terry explained.
“I want this to be a very family-friendly place,” Terry said.
This is the family’s first business endeavor, and it has been an exciting process, Terry explained. Amanda Terry’s background is in accounting, while her husband has been working in construction. Her daughter, with expertise in marketing, will serve as the business’s manager, and her son will use his IT skills to keep the golf technology working seamlessly.
The facility’s Trackman golf technology will offer a learning experience for golfers of all abilities, giving immediate feedback on swings and offering games for all skill levels. Golfers can choose from a library of courses across the globe to play on. There are also golf games for kids included in the game library.
Terry said she has seen people at Net Par play fun games in which they use golf to fight zombies, and more serious ones where they’ve prepared for an international golf trip by previewing the course virtually.
In addition to golf sessions for families and friends, Net Par Shallotte will offer bookings for events such as corporate outings and private celebrations.
The roughly 3,300-square-foot facility will have four bays and a patio, where Terry said they eventually hope to host live music.
No official opening date has been released, but Terry said they aim to open around late January or early February.
