After Trader Joe’s and Wawa, what chain do you want to see around Myrtle Beach?
For Myrtle Beach fans of some popular chains, 2025 has brought exciting new openings. Now, The Sun News wants to hear from readers: What restaurant, grocery or convenience store are you dying to see around the Grand Strand?
After years of anticipation, the first Trader Joe’s store in Horry County opened this fall. Some devotees went as far as Wilmington, North Carolina, to get their Trader Joe’s fix before the grocery debuted in the Myrtle Beach area. Once it opened, customers flocking to Trader Joe’s spiked traffic around the store that’s located on Sayebrook Parkway.
Just north of Horry County, across the state line, popular convenience store chain Wawa is set to open a new location. Currently, the closest Wawa store is about 90 miles from Myrtle Beach, but the new store will be less than 30 miles from the city, so Horry County customers will be able to get their hands on the crowd favorite sandwiches, coffees and more.
With development projects bringing new locations of fan favorites to the Grand Strand, what chain would you most like to see?
