Planning a vacation with your pet? These SC cities rated top pet-friendly spots
Planning a vacation with your pet can be difficult as many places either won’t allow animals or the cost to bring along your furry friend can be pricey.
But with millions of tourists making their way to the Grand Strand each year, many hotels and other rentals have made accommodations for those pet moms and dads.
The Myrtle Beach-North Myrtle Beach area has 4,739 pet-friendly hotels and 1,727 pet-friendly restaurants, according to BringFido via a study conducted by Stanton House Inn in Greenwich, Connecticut. That number of hotels, restaurants and activities for pets in each state puts South Carolina and the coastal cities at No. 12 on the list.
Rhode Island and Massachusetts ranked No. 1 and 2 on the list as the most pet-friendly states.
The study looked at listings in more than 700 cities for pet-friendly hotels, restaurants and activities. The rankings are based on density and accessibility, the report stated.
