A message previously left for the owner was not returned. A message to what appears to be a sister restaurant could not be left.

It’s not known when the new restaurant will open and workers at the site on Tuesday morning did not know.

The property is registered under the name Salvador Villalpando and Loca Luna 544 Inc., according to Horry County land records.

A person answering the phone at Luna Mexican Bar and Grill in Murrells Inlet said the restaurant also was owned by Villalpando but was unable to provide information about the new location.

The Murrells Inlet restaurant provides upscale dining that honors Mexican flavors and traditions, according to its website.
