Horry council to appoint Register of Deeds Tuesday

Horry County Council is scheduled to appoint a new Register of Deeds at its meeting Tuesday.

The appointee will replace Ballery Skipper, who was the Register of Deeds for more than 20 years. Skipper retired at the end of March.

South Carolina law states the appointment is made by County Council, which also appoints the administrator and the Clerk to Council.

Council’s meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 1301 2nd Ave., Conway.
