An iconic waterfront amusement park in Myrtle Beach announced a new attraction is coming this summer.

Family Kingdom Amusement Park, located at 300 4th Avenue South, is welcoming a new roller coaster to its collection of over 35 beloved rides. Lauded as the largest seaside amusement park in the Carolinas, and the home of the “Swamp Fox” wooden roller coaster, Family Kingdom will open the new ride in the summer of 2026.

The new coaster will be a Rocky Mountain Construction single-rail roller coaster stretching over 100 feet tall, according to Midway Mayhem.

Family Kingdom confirmed the new ride with a Facebook post on Tuesday.

Family Kingdom and Rocky Mountain Construction did not immediately respond for comment on Wednesday.

The company’s single-rail “Raptor” style coasters feature single-seat cars with open air on both sides. The coasters have tight turns and inversions, reaching speeds of up to 60 mph, according to the RMC website.

No name has been released for the new ride.
