Students sent to hospital after Horry County Schools bus involved in crash

Two Horry County students were transported to the hospital after the bus they were riding in was involved in a crash.

An Horry County Schools bus was involved in a two-vehicle crash about 4:06 p.m., according to a Facebook post from Horry County Fire Rescue.

The bus carrying 44 students from Carolina Forest High School was involved in a crash with another vehicle, according to an email from Horry County Schools spokesperson Lisa Bourcier.

Two students were transported to the hospital. The other students were either released to their parents or were transferred to another school bus and transported home, Bourcier said.

The crash, involving the bus and a passenger vehicle, happened in the area of Towne Centre Parkway and Market Place Drive. The passenger vehicle overturned, requiring extrication operations, the Facebook post said.

Details about the crash were unavailable. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
