Seafood and raw bar opens in former North Myrtle Beach restaurant location
The space of a closed restaurant in North Myrtle Beach is getting a new life as a seafood restaurant with raw bar has opened there this month.
Castaway Keys on Main, at 661 Main St., had its soft opening this week. The family-owned restaurant serves coastal cuisine, including a raw bar with crab legs, mussel, shrimp and oysters.
It’s also home to $5 margaritas, said Kristyn Maddi, one of five family members who operate the restaurant. She and her father and three brothers decided to buy the space after Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar and Grill closed in September and the restaurant went up for sale, Maddi said.
This isn’t the first restaurant the family has owned. They have owned eateries in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, she said.
The new restaurant is currently working on its menu, but its soft opening menu includes sandwiches, shrimp, seafood boil, pastas, gator fritters and oysters. They also have cocktails and draft beers.
Live music will be available, as well as outside games and sports, such as UFC and football, on the TVs.
