Conway pharmacist accused of hitting employees when ‘unsatisfied’ with work
Two former employees are accusing a Conway pharmacist of hitting them whenever he became unsatisfied with their work, according to a lawsuit.
Conway Pharmacy, 1610 Church St., and Magdy Hanna, who is listed as the owner or partial owner of the pharmacy, are being sued for assault and battery by two former pharmacy technicians who worked under Hanna’s supervision, the lawsuit said.
Lizzie Sarvis and Alexis Lyttle claim that Hanna struck them on multiple occasions when he was “unsatisfied with their work.” The assaults occurred until the two left in September 2025, and for more than a year for one of the technicians, the suit states.
Hanna declined to comment and said he was unaware that a lawsuit had been filed.
Hanna slapped the women on their heads “due to perceived deficiencies in their work for Conway Pharmacy,” according to the complaint. Both Sarvis and Lyttle told Hanna to stop.
On the day Lyttle quit working for the pharmacy, Hanna attempted to hit her, but she “dodged out of the way,” the suit states. On the day Sarvis quit working, Hanna did hit her, the suit claims.
In addition, Hanna was verbally abusive to both employees. On one occasion, he yelled at Lyttle, calling her a baby because she cried after he hit her, the suit states.
It is unclear if the women filed police reports against Hanna.
The former employees claim that Hanna, as the supervisor or owner, placed the women in reasonable fear of bodily harm and willfully struck both women on or around their head, forcibly making contact with them.
The suit also claims defamation by Hanna, who is speaking “disparagingly” about one or both of the women to the public and potential employers.
The suit, filed on Oct. 23, 2025, is seeking a jury trial.
