Bear killed in Carolina Forest after being hit by vehicle. What we know
A black bear was killed Friday night after being hit by a vehicle in Carolina Forest in the Myrtle Beach area.
The bear was hit by a vehicle about 10 p.m. on Carolina Forest Boulevard near Stafford Drive, according to Master Trooper Brandon J. Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
There were no injuries to anyone in the vehicle, Bolt said.
The bear was a juvenile male, according to an email from Kayla Brantley, a wildlife biologist with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
The bear died from his injuries, Brantley said.
