Guy Fieri’s Myrtle Beach area mega restaurant one year later. When will it open?
It’s been a year since it was announced that Guy Fieri will build a new restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area.
To some, it seems like progress is slow-going. But officials with Downtown Flavortown, a 50,000-square-foot restaurant that will feature food, a tiki bar, bowling alley and arcade games, say the large-scale project at the Myrtle Beach Mall is still on schedule to open in 2026.
On Friday morning, cranes were putting into place an air conditioning unit and workers were working both inside and out of the building located near Briarcliffe Acres along North Kings Highway.
Andrew Bledsoe with FACE Amusement Group said that he can’t say for sure when the restaurant will open, but “we are eager to get it open as soon as we can.”
Bledsoe said by text that a progress report shows that most of the upcoming work over the next couple of months will be on the inside of the building.
The Downtown Flavortown restaurant concept is Fieri’s second eatery, the first opening in Tennessee in 2022. The Myrtle Beach project was first announced in October 2024 and will look similar to its sister location.
Demolition on the former JC Penney site started in early 2025, followed by work on the actual restaurant.
Fieri first rose to fame with his Food Network show Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives, where he travels across the United States exploring new places with incredible food. He also hosts a cooking competition show on Food Network called Guy’s Grocery Games.
