The Horry County solicitor is asking for a temporary injunction to close a Myrtle Beach oceanfront hotel that allegedly has become a public nuisance.

Solicitor Jimmy Richardson stated in the petition against the Twilight Surf Hotel, 1703 S. Ocean Blvd., that the hotel “has the general reputation for repeated acts of unlawful possession or sale of controlled substances and continuous breaches of the peace.”

Messages left with the hotel and who is believed to be the registered agent for SK Holding Group LLC, owner of the property, were not immediately returned.

A message left with the special prosecutor in the case also was not returned by publication.

The hotel was purchased in 2021 and since that time there has been “little to no management or oversight of the business operations of the hotel,” the Oct. 20, 2025, filing said. “In this vacuum, drug activity and breaches of the peace have become rampant.”

It is unclear how many times police have responded to the hotel. The Sun News has requested incidents related to the hotel.

The petition is asking for the hotel to be closed for one year until a trial can be conducted.

If granted, the hotel’s owners and employees will be restrained from using, maintaining and assisting in the using of the hotel and the Myrtle Beach Police department will remove all the furniture, equipment, fixtures and other property and put it in a place for safekeeping, the petition said.

The petition said that the furniture, personal property and other fixtures located on the premises have been used for “the purpose of furthering the public nuisance.”

The hotel was built in 1972 and has had three owners since its construction, according to online county records. The final was SK Holding Group in 2021.
