Fire crews are responding to a shrimp boat fire Monday off the coast of Cherry Grove beach in North Myrtle Beach.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue is helping rescue crew members from the boat, towing them back to shore, according to North Myrtle Beach Fire Chief Billy Floyd. It appears the fire happened a little after 4 p.m.

Horry County Fire Rescue, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, went to the boat to put out the flames, Floyd said.

There doesn’t appear to be any injuries, Floyd said.

The crew was able to deploy a life raft, according to a Facebook post from North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

Horry County Fire Rescue was able to put out as much fire on the boat until the boat sank, the post said.

It is unclear what caused the fire.
