An Horry County Schools bus was involved in a motor vehicle accident Monday morning, blocking traffic along a busy roadway in the Myrtle Beach area.

The bus was involved in the accident near the busy intersection of International Drive and River Oaks Drive, in the Carolina Forest area, around 8:38 a.m., and appeared to be involved in an accident with another vehicle.

District spokesperson Lisa Bourcier shared in an email that no students were on the bus at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Bourcier said that no further information is available, and did not immediately respond to further questioning about where the bus was headed.

It is unclear whether vehicle damage occurred and what happened to cause the crash.

The Sun News has requested an incident report for the accident.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
