Update: Pedestrian walking on sidewalk struck, killed by car near Murrells Inlet

A pedestrian was killed on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Elizabeth Coss, 60, died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on the sidewalk, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard by email. It appears she may have been walking home from work.
The collision occurred at 4:25 p.m. on SC 707 near the intersection of Starbuck Lake Road in Murrells Inlet. The pedestrian and vehicle were both traveling south when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, striking the pedestrian, according to SCHP.
The pedestrian died from their injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was the only occupant of the vehicle, and was taken to Waccamaw Hospital for undisclosed injuries.
