As Tropical Storm Imelda moves through the Atlantic, operations will continue unaffected at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.

Although the storm will remain offshore, Imelda is bringing showers to the Myrtle Beach area early this week. But airport personnel said Monday morning they’re closely monitoring the storm in coordination with Horry County Emergency Management and delays and cancellations aren’t expected.

“Passengers are encouraged to check their flight status with their airline before coming to the airport this week,” said Lauren Wehrung, air service and business analyst at Myrtle Beach International Airport. “The easiest ways to verify or rebook flights are through the airline’s website or mobile app.”

As of noon Monday, nearly all flights are expected to depart on time. One flight, American Airlines 1818 to Dallas-Fort Worth, is estimated to depart a minute late at 5:53 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 5:52 p.m.
