Grand Strand beach rated among top 20 best in Southeast US. Did it beat Florida?
A Grand Strand area beach has been rated among the best beaches in the Southeast U.S.
Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet ranked in the top 20 best beaches by Beach.com, an online travel guide to the best coastal destinations and stays.
Beach.com analyzed more than 1,300 beaches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Georgia, coming up with 365 of the best beaches in the Southeast.
The beaches were ranked based on such things as water color and clarity, facilities, access and opinion.
Huntington Beach State Park received “very positive” for its environment, as well as people’s opinion of the beach and their experience. The beach is one of two state parks located along the Grand Strand.
The other, Myrtle Beach State Park, was ranked No. 77 on the list.
While Florida beaches dominated the list, other Grand Strand beaches were included in the rankings.
