A motorcycle crash in Horry County left one person dead on Monday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

William Fetzer, 58, of Conway, died on Cates Bay Highway when the motorcycle he was driving struck a ditch, according to an email sent by the Horry County coroner’s office on Wednesday night.

Around 6:48 p.m., the motorcycle crashed into a ditch on Secondary 29 near 3 Mile Road, killing the driver. The motorcycle had been traveling south when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, striking the ditch, according to an email statement sent by SCHP Master Trooper Brandon Bolt.
