It’s because of this natural beauty that a location near Myrtle Beach has been named one of South Carolina’s six “most spectacular” destinations in 2025 for outdoor exploration by World Atlas.
Huntington Beach State Park, located in Murrells Inlet, often receives accolades for its stunning, natural beauty that includes a vast salt marsh, maritime forest and shoreline along the Atlantic Ocean.
In addition to its nature offerings, the online geography resource also noted the park’s year-round camping, as well as the historic Atalaya Castle, which was the winter home of Archer Huntington and his wife, Anna.
