Road closures along and around Ocean Boulevard to impact drivers. Here’s when
Several Myrtle Beach roads will be closed Saturday for the annual Shriners’ Parade.
Drivers can expect some roadways to be closed for about six hours.
The parade is part of the South Atlantic Shrine Association’s annual fall festival. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. at 17th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard.
There will be no parking on South Ocean Boulevard, between 17th and 29th avenues South, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the City of Myrtle Beach.
The following roads will be closed for the parade, but residents will have access to their homes, the city said:
– 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st avenues South, between Kings Highway and South Ocean Boulevard
– Yaupon Drive, from 17th to 21st avenues South
– South Ocean Boulevard, from 17th Avenue South to Springmaid Boulevard.
Hotel guests on the west side of South Ocean Boulevard will be allowed to travel regularly; however, hotels on the east side of South Ocean Boulevard will have access to only one northbound lane from Springmaid Boulevard to 17th Avenue South. No southbound traffic will be permitted during the parade, the city said.
Police will be available to assist drivers in navigating around the area.
