The chef famous for her love of butter and Southern cooking will be in the Grand Strand this weekend.

Paula Deen will visit her restaurant, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, at Broadway at the Beach, according to a social media post from the shopping center. Deen will be at the eatery from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen opened its Myrtle Beach location in 2017, several years after the first restaurant opened Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, The Sun News reported.

Since its opening, Deen has visited the Myrtle Beach spot several times, last making an appearance in July 2024.

The 78-year-old has published more than 10 cookbooks in a career that has spanned decades. She had a show on Food Network for many years, but it was canceled after a former employee filed a lawsuit alleging racism and sexual harassment, according to The Washington Post. This led to Deen stating she had used racial slurs before.

After the controversy, Deen went on to create a cooking channel on Roku, spend a season on the TV show “Dancing with the Stars” and publish more cookbooks.
