The former standout quarterback Grayson McCall’s is current employment with his alma mater.

According to a response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by The Sun News, McCall currently makes $61,200 as an offensive analyst for CCU football.

There is no contract for his position. It is a time-limited position that started on Jan. 15, 2025 and ends on Dec. 31, 2025, CCU records show.

“So fired up to come back home!” McCall said in the press release at the time he accepted the position. “I’m very thankful for Coach (Tim) Beck and Coach (Drew) Hollingshead for giving me such a great opportunity. Can’t wait to light up the scoreboard in Brooks just like old times!!! Chants Up!”

McCall threw for 87 touchdowns and nearly 10,000 yards passing in about three and a half seasons as Coastal’s starting quarterback, according to previous Sun News reporting. He was also named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year three times during his tenure.

When asked what fringe benefits are included in his position, CCU wrote that McCall receives “basic health/dental, retirement plan offered.”

The previous offensive analyst before McCall joined the coaching staff made $37,500 and was in the position from Jan. 10, 2023 to Jan. 2, 2025, records obtained by FOIA show. They received the same fringe benefits as McCall, CCU docs said.
