Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce missed opportunity to get engaged in Myrtle Beach
While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce didn’t get engaged in the Myrtle Beach area, some area businesses and even a city were hoping they would have.
Several memes have been popping up on social media, embedding the engagement photo of the famous singer and her just as famous pro football player boyfriend. Kelce plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dead Dog Saloon posted a meme of the couple in front of the Murrells Inlet restaurant with the words “About last night...”
The City of Conway took an opportunity to let people know that the city’s Riverwalk would have made a perfect place for the couple to have gotten engaged. The city’s Facebook post was complete with an embedded photo of the couple along the Riverwalk.
“Word on the street is Travis Kelce finally put a ring on it for Taylor Swift… but we think they missed out. Everyone knows the best place to get engaged is right here on the Conway Riverwalk,” the post said. It was followed by many people commenting how they too got engaged along the Riverwalk.
McEisley’s Tavern, a new business set to open this week in Murrells Inlet, said they were thrilled that the couple announced their engagement “only days before our grand opening!”
However, Slider, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans’ bat dog, thought it was pretty rude how Taylor and Travis announced their engagement – on National Dog Day.
