Darius Grant, 31, of Conway died in a weekend car wreck in Horry County, according to an email from the Horry County coroner’s office on Monday afternoon.

Grant was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 701 near Flossie Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Shortly before 5 a.m., a 2002 Nissan Altima traveling south on U.S. 701 ran off the road and struck a utility pole, killing Grant, the only person inside, via blunt trauma.

The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. No further details have been released.
