Texas cowboy boot store will open its first SC shop in North Myrtle Beach

A new store is bringing some western flair to North Myrtle Beach this fall.

Cavender’s Boot City, a Texas-based retailer with more than 100 locations throughout the nation, is set to open its first South Carolina location in North Myrtle Beach in a matter of months. Beyond its wide selection of boots, the store will also offer an array of western-style apparel.

The 19,000-square-foot store at 2301 Highway 17 South will offer customers access to all of Cavender’s signature goods — hats, dresses, jeans, button-downs, work boots and classic western accessories for men, women and children.

The store will feature brands familiar to many customers, such as Wrangler, Resistol and Ariat, alongside Cavender’s own line.

Cavender’s was founded in 1965 in Texas, and claims on its website that it “has always had a knack for being in the right place at the right time.” Now, the right place is North Myrtle Beach.

Every Cavender’s store displays vintage photos of its founding family and their three cattle ranches, paying homage to the company’s history. In 2019, the Cavender family was recognized for their impacts on cowboy culture with an induction into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.

An exact opening date for the new store has not yet been provided. The Cavender’s public relations team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
