Myrtle Beach is known as the mini golf capital of the world.

Multiple courses of all types and themes dot the Grand Strand, some of them less then a mile from one another.

While pirates seem to be the most popular theme, there is one that is so weird and challenging at the same time that it has made USA Today’s list of the Top 10 Best mini golf spots across the country.

Mt. Atlanticus Minotaur Golf in Myrtle Beach sits on 3 acres and is five stories high with tiki huts that tower above North Kings Highway, as well as a giant Loch Ness-type monster and venus fly trap, dodo birds, aliens, and of course, its namesake, minotaurs.

There are also secret holes, multiple level caves and a backstory about how the two 19-hole golf courses were part of the sunken continent of Atlantis that were eventually settled by minotaurs.

And, if you make a hole-in-one on the famous 19th hole, winners get their photo mounted on the wall and a free play for life.

The Myrtle Beach course came in at No. 8 on the list.
