A three-car crash near Pitts Landing near Conway killed one person and hospitalized three people.

Soraida Pivazal, 24, died as a result of the crash, according to Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard in an email. She lived in the Gresham, South Carolina, community

On May 31 at about 4:55 p.m., a Honda SUV and Mazda hatchback were driving west along U.S. 378 near Pitts Landing, Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said in a release.

The Honda, which had two uninjured occupants, hit the back of the Mazda.

The collision pushed the Mazda on to the left side of the highway, where a GMC pickup driving east struck the Mazda again, Bolt said.

Three of the four people in the Mazda went to the hospital, where Pivazal died. The driver and sole occupant of the GMC also went to the hospital.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with help from Conway Police while Horry County Fire Rescue responded.
