Big-name ’80s rock band to give free concert in Conway. When you can see them
They were one of the most popular rock bands in the 1980s, turning out chart toppers including “Sister Christian” that sold millions of records.
Now, Night Ranger will bring their music to the Conway Riverfest 2025 on June 28 for a free concert. The group will perform from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
The festival, hosted by Conway Chamber of Commerce, is in its 45th year and will take place along Elm Street near the Waccamaw River. It runs 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
“I think it’s definitely one of the biggest bands we’ve had,” said Morgan McDonnell, special events coordinator for Conway Chamber of Commerce.
McDonnell said the Chamber tries to switch up what live music it offers, testing out other genres. Last year, it was country.
This year, because the festival had some extra money in the budget, organizers decided to try to get a more well known musical group, hoping it will “really spark people’s interest,” McDonnell said.
Night Ranger is currently on tour, hitting different locations across the country.
The San Francisco-based band had its biggest musical run in the 1980s. The ballad “Sister Christian” is the band’s most popular hit, but it’s also known for such songs as “When You Close Your Eyes” and “(You Can Still) Rock in America.”
