Headboard falls off wall, injures sleeping woman at Myrtle Beach resort, lawsuit claims
A Vermont woman is suing a Myrtle Beach resort after a headboard on the hotel bed fell off the wall and on top of her while she was sleeping.
Selenia Andall claims she was staying at The Caribbean Resort, 3000 N. Ocean Blvd., and as she went to lay down on one of the beds in the room, the headboard fell off the wall. The suit says the headboard was attached to the wall with screws that were too small for the holes created to hold the furniture.
The suit not only names the resort, but also Ocean Front Investors, Caribbean Oceanfront Tower Homeowners’ Association and Brittain Resorts and Hotels.
A message left with Brittain Resorts and Hotels was not returned by publication.
Andall said she received serious and painful injuries, including to her head, back and shoulder.
The suit, filed May 5, 2025, said the resort and its owners were negligent in its failure to fix the “improperly affixed headboard.”
Andall is seeking more than $100,000 in actual damages, as well as punitive damages.
