Person dies after falling from Myrtle Beach resort balcony. What we know about the death
Myrtle Beach Police are investigating the death of a person who fell off a Myrtle Beach hotel balcony.
It is unclear what happened, but police and fire crews responded about 9:15 p.m. Sunday night to the Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort, 2207 S. Ocean Blvd.
A police report said that officers found the person lying face down near the pool and was unresponsive.
It is unknown whether the person jumped or fell, according to Myrtle Beach Police spokesperson Randolph Angotti.
Myrtle Beach Fire Department did respond to the scene, but because the person was deceased, no transport took place, according to spokesperson Jon Evans.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the person.
The section of South Oceanfront Boulevard was blocked off for some time as police investigated the death.
